Work in Europe has shown that Calcium Cyanamide - sold in the UK as Microgran - acheives a rapid and remaining control of the fungus causing fairy rings in lawns.

Microgran is applied to the lawn at 40 grammes per square metre.

The problem area and 1-3 metres around it should be treated. Approximately 3 weeks after spreading the Microgran the fungus will have died off and the lawn recovers again.

As well as helping to control the fairy rings the Microgran also acts a slow release nitrogen fertiliser and will help the lawn recover.

Microgran is available in 1.5kg packs.
